Overwatch 2 and Mobile – Is it destined to happen?

Overwatch 2 is in development and fans are excited about this new rendition of the game. While it’s been teased out we know that OW2 will feel more like an expansion to the base game rather than a true sequel. One of the reasons for this is that released tidbits have revealed that OW2 will center around PvE missions rather than PvP.

These missions will be in the Overwatch universe integrating story, dialogue and even cutscenes. While die-hard Overwatch fans may get excited for a different type of Overwatch, many fans wish they would stick to PvP primarily rather than PvE.

With all this said, it’s still too early to know exactly what Overwatch 2 is or isn’t. There still isn’t a release date for Overwatch 2, but some speculate that it will come in late 2020.

Some are wondering – will Overwatch 2 be on mobile? After the disastrous announcement at Blizzcon about Diablo Immortal some are wondering will Overwatch 2 have the same treatment?

It is unlikely that Overwatch 2 will only be a mobile game or even come to mobile. There has been no official word from Blizzard whether Overwatch 2 will come to mobile.

With this said – unless the game was made directly for mobile it is unlikely that if ever will come to mobile at all. Android users may hope for one day being able to play Overwatch 2 on their phone, but it is unlikely.

Overwatch only recently to the Nintendo Switch and it doesn’t perform as well as gamers would hope. It runs at a mere 30 frames per second which is lackluster for a competitive shooter. Will Overwatch 2 be able to run on mobile? Highly unlikely.

But who knows? Maybe we’re wrong and Blizzard will surprise you die-hard mobile gamers. Or you could just buy a PC to prepare for Overwatch 2’s release and play it as it was meant to be played.
