It’s now officially fall, and the air has a bite and crispness to it (at least it is in California!). Colder weather means more time inside, which means more time for VIDEO GAMES! We know that there’s limited time for gaming, and that you want to have the most fun possible, and so we’ve put together a short list of the hottest games that you should be playing this month.

XBox One – Cuphead
Unless you live under a rock you probably have heard/read/watched news about the game Cuphead. The hype and excitement that it received on release was insane. Within the course of three days over 100,000 copies were sold on Steam alone. I’m wary of hype these days, because too often hype doesn’t match reality but according to reviews Cuphead goes beyond the hype.
For those who don’t know, Cuphead is a run and gun video game where you play as Cuphead (or Co-op with Mughead) trying to defeat a series of bosses to repay a debt that you owe the devil. The artwork was inspired by the cartoonist works of the 1930s to the point that you feel like you’re playing in an old-school cartoon. The game is notoriously difficult, but the kind of challenge that makes you want to keep playing until you beat it. Cuphead is easily a contender for Game of the Year. Enjoy this one!

Playstation 4 – The Last of Us
Some months we’ll recommend the hottest and newest games on the market such as Cuphead, but other times we need to recommend classics that you seriously must play. The Last of Us for the Playstation 4 is one such game. We’re HUGE fans of TLOU, and cannot wait until The Last of Us 2 comes out. If you haven’t played TLOU stop what you’re doing now, and get yourself a copy. The story will grab you and won’t let you go until it’s over. You’ll make best friends with Joel and Ellie and wish that the game would never end. Have I raved about this game enough? Yes it’s that freaking good.

PC Gaming – Fortnite Battle Royale
Most games require money to play, but Fornite Battle Royale has been released for free! It’s the goofy brother of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds. We reviewed the game on a recent podcast episode, and think it’s a great free game to play with friends. Are you going to spend 100s of hours on this one? Probably not, but for a free game you’ll get more than your money’s worth. It has an arcade feel to it, and is fun to goof on.
