The long awaited Destiny 2 is out, and it is BEAUTIFUL. Destiny 2 is the mature, polished version of its predecessor. Bungie listened to their fans and have created a truly great game. There is no doubt that Destiny 2 will go down as a classic. Of course you know this! You’re loving the game and searching for the Best Destiny 2 Monitor! Destiny 2 is begging to be played on a monitor that will showcase it’s gorgeous looks, but will also keep up with all the running and gunning you’ll be doing. You’ve come to the right spot. We will overview two monitors, and let you decide what’s best for you.
PC gamers are notorious from spending lots of time and money on their graphics card, but without a quality monitor they won’t be getting the full use out of their GPU. One of the best qualities of a monitor is that their life span last much longer than other components in a computer. With this long-life it’s important to purchase a monitor that you will be happy with for a long time. Choose wisely!
About Refresh Rate
1. 144Hz is MUCH better than 60Hz. The Hz is the refresh rate of the monitor. A 144Hz monitor means that its display will refresh 144 times per second to show a new image. For gaming you don’t want to settle for anything less than 144Hz. Someone with a 144Hz monitor will have an easier time aiming at fast moving targets in Destiny 2 than someone stuck with a 60Hz monitor.
The Best Destiny 2 Monitor (Really for all gaming!)
Hands down the best monitor for gaming Destiny 2 is the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q. This monitor has two important traits. One is that it delivers a 144Hz fast refresh rate, and secondly it uses IPS panel technology to give it vibrant colors even at different viewing angles. It is a 27-inch monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution, and has more pixels than 1080p. The nice thing is that it’s not a 4K panel, and so it won’t overburden your graphics card.
Asus ROG Swift PG279Q SPECS
Panel size: 27-inch
Native resolution: 2560 x 1440
Panel technology: IPS
Refresh rate: 165Hz
Pixel response: 4ms
Inputs: 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.0
G-Sync: Yes
The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q has a refresh rate that can be overclocked (if desired) to 165Hz. If you have an Nvidida graphics card you’ll be able to use the Nvidia’s G-sync technology feature that allows for variable fresh rates.
A Quick Note on Nvidia’s G-Sync
Nvidia’s G-Sync is a newer technology that was created to allow smoother and faster gaming experiences. What it does is synchronize the display refresh rates between your GPU and monitor. This eliminates screen tearing, reduces display stutter and other input lag. The outcome is sharper looking objects, smoother gameplay, and scenes appearing instantly.
So we’ve been raving about this monitor, surely there must be a negative to this monitor. The biggest con to this monitor is the price. The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q generally runs for about $750. With this said, a monitor is a serious investment. A cheap monitor will need replacing in a few years or less, but a great monitor can last a long, long time. The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is worth the price, and Destiny 2 will look like a dream on it.

The Budget Destiny 2 Monitor (Still good quality!)
We can’t call our article without showcasing the actual best monitor, but we totally understand that the price point is a hindrance for many. The problem with a lower cost monitor is that quality is often sacrificed. We searched high and low for a great budget monitor and found the Asus VG248QE. It was important for a budget monitor to be 144Hz and the Asus VG248QE is just that. It is a 24-inch monitor that offers 1080p display. It should be noted that some gamers prefer a 24″ monitor to a 27″. The reasoning is that some feel like a 27″ monitor is too difficult to scan the monitor edges for enemies to shoot at.
You won’t be disappointed with this monitor. It is highly recomended on Amazon with over 2,000 reviews and a 4.5 star rating.
